STEP 6 OF 7 · EMAIL SENDING

Set Up Email Sending
& Deliverability

Prepare your business email sending setup so your messages have a better chance of reaching the inbox.

Your professional email address is one part of your setup. Now it's time to prepare the system that sends emails from your business platform. A professional-looking email address alone doesn't guarantee good deliverability. Your domain authentication, sending practices, and email content also matter.

What's the Difference Between Email and Email Sending?

Your mailbox lets you send and receive everyday messages, such as emails from customers or business partners. Email sending through your business platform is used for things like opt-in confirmations, automated follow-ups, newsletters, and customer communications.

These systems can use different settings. Even if your professional mailbox already works, you may still need to configure and authenticate your domain for the emails sent through GetWealthStack.

Your goal for this step

Make sure your sending domain is configured as far as possible, review the authentication instructions provided by your platform, and avoid sending campaigns from an unverified setup.

Understand the Essential Email Records

Email authentication uses DNS records to help receiving email services verify that messages are authorized to be sent on behalf of your domain.

1

SPF

Specifies which sending servers or services are authorized to send email for your domain.

2

DKIM

Uses a digital signature to help receiving services verify that a message was authorized and has not been altered in transit.

3

DMARC

Provides a policy for handling messages that fail authentication checks and can provide reports about domain usage.

4

Domain Verification

Some sending services ask you to add a DNS record to confirm that you control the domain you're using.

Important: use the exact records supplied to you.

Your platform or email sending provider should provide the specific DNS values required for your domain. Don't guess these values or copy records from another domain.

Set Up Your Email Sending Step by Step

  1. Choose the domain you'll send from

Use a domain you own and control. If possible, use a consistent business domain that matches the identity your subscribers expect to see.

  2. Open your email sending settings

Sign in to your GetWealthStack account and locate the email sending or domain authentication settings. The exact menu names and options may vary.

  3. Add or verify your sending domain

Follow the platform's instructions to register your domain for email sending. Copy any verification records exactly as displayed.

  4. Configure the required DNS records

Open the DNS management area at your domain registrar or DNS host. Add the records provided by your sending service, paying close attention to the host/name and value fields.

  5. Protect your existing email setup

Don't delete or replace existing MX records or other DNS entries without understanding their purpose. Your mailbox and your marketing email service may rely on different records.

  6. Return to your platform and verify

Once you've added the records, use the verification option provided by the platform. DNS changes can take time to appear, so a pending status doesn't always mean you've made a mistake.

  7. Check your sender identity

Review the sender name and email address that subscribers will see. Use a recognizable identity and an address you can monitor for replies or customer questions.

Protect Your Deliverability From Day One

Authentication is essential, but it isn't the only factor that influences whether emails reach the inbox. Your sending habits and the quality of your contact list also matter.

  • Only email people who have given appropriate permission to receive your messages.
  • Use a clear sender name and a subject line that accurately represents the email.
  • Include a working unsubscribe option in marketing emails where required.
  • Remove invalid addresses and avoid repeatedly emailing contacts who never engage.
  • Start with relevant, useful messages rather than sending a large volume immediately.
  • Monitor delivery issues, bounces, complaints, and engagement where reporting is available.
Don't rush into bulk sending.

A newly configured domain may not have an established sending reputation. Start carefully, follow your provider's guidance, and increase sending volume gradually when appropriate.

What If Your Domain Is Still Pending?

DNS records can take time to propagate, and some services take additional time to recheck them. If verification hasn't completed yet, double-check the record details and wait for the service to recheck your domain.

You can continue preparing your business and writing your first emails while you wait. However, don't assume that marketing emails are ready to send until your platform confirms that the required setup is complete.

If verification continues to fail, compare the required records with the DNS entries at your provider and contact the relevant support team if needed.

Your Step 6 Checklist

Check off the tasks you've completed or started:

  • I've identified the domain I'll use for business email sending.
  • I've located the email sending or domain authentication settings in my platform.
  • I've reviewed the required verification and authentication records.
  • I've added the required DNS records, or noted what still needs to be done.
  • I've protected existing mailbox and DNS settings.
  • I've reviewed my sender identity and basic email sending practices.

You're Almost There!

Your business infrastructure is taking shape. It's time for the final step: review your setup, test the essentials, and identify anything that still needs attention before you launch.
